I was one of three artists chosen to work with Marley Floors on Phase two of the new Conquest Hospital, which replaced a Victorian building in the centre of town. I worked with the Women & Children’s unit and focused on the long corridor leading into the department. Marley Floors offered the opportunity to work with a new flooring material which enabled the use of photography and text to create images. The floor design was based on the movements of hospital cleaners and user’s movements and from this I  created an abstract pattern. The design celebrated the daily task of cleaning, incorporated into the design was an extract from Louis Carroll’s ‘Alice through the Looking Glass’
